I saw some exciting news over the weekend and had to share—the Biden Administration just capped credit card late fees at $8 per month. Experts say that this new rule will save families on average $220 each year. Around 45 million (!!) Americans deal with late fees every year, so to say this will have a big impact is an understatement.

It’s so great to see the government looking out for regular people instead of big corporations. Read the news for yourself here.

Cheers to more money in your pocket and less stress opening up your credit statement. Leave a comment to tell us how you plan to use your extra $220 this year!

  • Wish this was for all your bills. I think our utilities could do without charging a late fee. Wonder if anyone in the government knows or cares.

  • Late fees are my nightmare and at different times have even made me scared to open my mobile banking app. FINALLY someone at the top is listening!

  • Yaaay! It’s about time some of these companies stop getting rich off of us that have financial issues! We get Poorer and these companies get Richer!

  • Well the money I would save from the credit card fees I don’t have credit cards I was taught that if you couldn’t afford it you didn’t buy it and if you were an adult and responsible enough to use credit cards that when you are currently accumulating late fees you didn’t occur late fees you are responsible enough not you that being responsible means that you understand all the terms and conditions of a contract and that’s what having credit card is it’s like a contract but for those that get sidetracked or you know busy in life and need credit cards to sustain life daily life yeah it’s great you’re being rewarded for not following the rules and directions of terms and conditions of your contract so I mean in one hand don’t have credit cards and or have them but follow the terms and conditions our government isn’t helping us they are hindering us they’re giving us a reward for not doing something properly
