March was a holy month for so many world religions – Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Zoroastrianism, and Hinduism! One of my favorite things about this community is how many different backgrounds and walks of life we represent. Last week, I asked you all to share something your faith has taught you and your answers had me tearing up!
Here are a few of your beautiful, inspiring responses:
“My faith has taught me to always have trust in the bigger plan no matter how dire the circumstances are that you are enduring.”
“To always stay humble and kind. To never give up on yourself and to always keep your faith.”
“It has shown me that faith unites and fear separates.”
“Faith taught me that things work out as they are intended. When you are generous with others, it comes back to you.”
“My faith taught me to never give up and to always have faith, compassion and understanding. As well as to learn to live, love, laugh, be honest and communicate with others with an open heart.”
“It showed me that there is always a way.”
“My faith has taught me to keep learning. Keep seeking answers. And there is no bad question. As a Muslim, I now see the beauty of humanity differently than before. And I finally feel so connected to a very very large family who are all able to help one another.”
“My faith has made me more tolerant, open-minded. I don’t force my beliefs on others but won’t tolerate others doing it to me. I like to point out similarities in beliefs rather than the differences. I have friends of many faiths, it’s all about respect.”
“My faith has taught me acceptance and forgiveness. I can only change myself and since I am not perfect, I don’t sit in judgment of anyone else. I have found the key to helping anyone is accepting who they are and encouraging them to be a better person.”
For many of us, faith is a lifelong journey. What else has faith (your own or someone else’s) taught you?
