Who is Grace?
Hi! I’m a small-town Iowa girl, married 43 years to my favorite small business owner, mom to two grown sons, and grandma to four kids and three very spoiled dogs. I’ve spent my whole life in the Midwest, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Grace is my pen name, and when I step into my role as Grace, I try to be the best version of myself. Before I was Grace, I spent years as a counselor and advocate for women who’d been through some of the hardest things life can throw at you. I’ve logged thousands of hours listening, supporting, and helping women find their footing. I’m not a doctor or a lawyer—but I know how to help you think things through.

I submitted a question to Grace but she hasn’t answered me. What should I do?
Thanks so much for sharing your question with Grace! Hundreds of readers like you submit questions and dilemmas for advice each week, and Grace does her best to answer as many as possible but unfortunately it’s not possible to answer each and every one. Instead, Grace tries to answer questions that reflect themes lots of readers are asking about, so that even if your exact question doesn’t get answered, you get some good advice you can use.

What is Friends with Grace?
Friends with Grace is our series of conversations bringing together women from our community to talk honestly and openly about topics that matter to all of us. We invite 8 women to join us and get real about the month’s topic and what it means to them. Participants from each session get paid $100 just for showing up and speaking their mind. If you weren’t selected or can’t join us, don’t worry—we share videos of the best moments from each session for everyone to enjoy. Check out what past groups have talked about or apply here.

Do I really get paid $100?
Yes! If you’re selected to join a Friends with Grace session, you’ll receive a $100 e-gift card after participating in your session. Friends with Grace sessions last 90 minutes and are scheduled during the week, not the weekend. We have at least 16 Friends with Grace participants per month on average, and 100% of participants receive their gift card.

When will I get paid?
Once you’ve finished your Friends with Grace session, you’ll receive an evaluation to share your feedback about the experience. You’ll receive your e-gift card in a text to your phone about two weeks later.

Can I participate more than once?
While you can certainly apply more than once, we like to keep our Friends with Grace groups fresh and invite new women to join us each time.

Does Friends with Grace offer other opportunities for past participants?
Yes! There may be opportunities to come together with past participants for celebrations such as Galentine’s Day, or to join a small group of past participants moving through a longer goal setting journey together. Watch for upcoming invites and/or applications.
